Christ Church
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the First Sunday after Pentecost, May 30, by celebrating a Holy Eucharist service, in person and via Zoom, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church Lakeside’s new location, two doors East of, and on the same side as the La Huerta Eventos Center. Rev. Danny Borkowski will celebrate and give the message “Experiencing God Incarnate” based on John 3:1-17. Masks are required. The June services will not be shown via Zoom, except on Sunday, June 27.

Lake Chapala Baptist
The Lake Chapala Baptist Church will be open Sunday, May 30, 10:45 a.m., for in-person service. Covid protocols, including masks, sanitizing and social distancing will be followed.
Lake Chapala Baptist Church continues an exposition of the Epistle to the Ephesians (6:10-18). In this series of the Christian in Complete Armor the piece of armor being considered is “Putting On The Helmet Of Salvation.” To understand how this protects us we need to understand what salvation means in this context.
• Past experience of salvation — that moment we were saved — Justification
• Present experience of our salvation —our present walk with God — Sanctification
• Future experience of our salvation — when we enter into eternal glory to be with Him — Glorification.
Last week we saw that to fight the Christian fight is to build, and to build the kingdom is to fight our spiritual battle.
So how will Satan attack us and seek to neutralize us? He attempts a blow to the head. Now if you are in Christ, Satan cannot deal you a mortal blow. Your salvation cannot be killed. Your salvation is secure. All the legions of hell cannot change that, but Satan wants to deal you a blow to the mind that will leave you dazed, disoriented, discouraged, and if possible, despairing. Just as Israel in Chapter Nehemiah 4 were at first full of zeal (vs 6) just 4 verses later we read that they were overwhelmed by the rubble they could not take their eyes off.
So it is when we see the rubble of failure or disappointment in our lives all we see is the rubble. Our mind is under attack. The helmet of salvation therefore is our sure hope that brings us protection, knowing that ultimately God wins. These attacks are the fiery arrows flying our way, and what is not doused by the shield of faith must be deflected by the helmet of salvation. As Satan tries to wear down the saints, so our armor must be applied. However hard and continuous he attacks we hold fast to our hope. The Lamb has won, we await the final act of God to put an end to sin. But for now, we are not discouraged, disappointed or hindered, because we have on the helmet of our hope in Christ.
So, fix your eyes on Christ, the hope of glory, and understand when the rubble of life is all you see, the Devil is pleased; that’s where he wants your eyes. So, lift up your head and look to your heavenly Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord.
