Sunday, June 13, Dr. Wayne Cook returns to the pulpit. His sermon is entitled “The Sand and the Rock.” Psalm 90:10 says we should expect to live about three score and 10 years (70).
The important question is, what we are going to do with our lives during that time? At the end of The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus uses an analogy to describe life. He says that some build their houses on sand, which washes away in a storm, but the wise person builds his house on solid rock.

Christ Church
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the third Sunday after Pentecost, June 13, by celebrating a Holy Eucharist service, in person and via Zoom, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church Lakeside’s new location, two doors east of, and on the same side as the La Huerta Eventos Center. Rev. Rev. Linda Ramos will celebrate and give the message “The Church and the Kingdom of God” based on Mark 4:26-34. Masks are required.
At noon those wishing to have brunch/lunch will meet in a place determined by those present at church.
The bible study, hosted by Rev. Danny Borkowski, is suspended during the month of June.
Little Chapel
Pastor Pete Campbell will continue to preach from the book of Daniel, Sunday, June 13, 11 a.m., at the praise and worship service at the Little Chapel by the Lake. To contribute to our monthly food distribution in San Juan Tecomatlan drop off donations in the big purple box in front of the Chapel (non-perishable items only).

St. Andrew’s Anglican
On the third Sunday after Pentecost, June 13, St. Andrews is open for in-person worship. All Covid-19 protocols are followed and masks must be worn. Reverend Michael Schirmacher will preach and celebrate Holy Communion.
A live-stream service, accessed online through standrewsriberas.org, begins at 10 a.m. and remains online until Saturday, June 19.
We have resumed our after-worship coffee and cookies social time.
St. Andrew’s feeding program is collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Operation Feed.

One of the many lessons the pandemic has brought is a reminder that we live in an uncertain world, a world where we don’t have all the truths, all the answers. We’ve seen governments stumble to provide solid and certain guidance on safe and effective behaviors in the pandemic. We’ve had friends, relatives (or yes, ourselves) glom onto factually suspect ideas and practices (e.g. conspiracy theories) as ways to inject a kind of assumed assuredness into these uncertain times. So how do we live with uncertainty? How do we make these best choices when information is scarce, or suspect? How do we make peace with doubt? Rev. Matt will explore living with uncertainty. Cate Howell will be the Service Leader.

Last Sunday, Pastor John continued with his exposition of Ephesians and completed the Christian in Complete Armor (Ephesians 6:17b) and the Sword of the Spirit, described as the mighty weapon for attack.
Emphasizing the importance of knowing the Scriptures, the message gave the following principles:
• The word of God is the source of truth. (John 17:17).
• The word of God is also a source of happiness, (Proverbs 8:34 ; Luke 11:28).
• The word of God is the source of spiritual growth. (1 Peter 2:2).
• The word of God is the source of power. (Hebrews 4:12);
• The word of God is the source of victory.
Sunday, June 13, the focus will be on the Priority of Prayer which empowers the proper functioning of the Armor the Christian wears.

Abundant Life Church
There is a lot of talk about infections today with the coronavirus having moved around the globe. Infections are nothing new to mankind and even in the Law of Moses there were rules for isolation when a person was infected. Come this Sunday, June 13, to discover how Jesus changed the rules for infections of His day and continues to do so today. When isolation is the rule the only one who can break that rule is God and He does so time and time again. Let Jesus touch you when no one else can!
