Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the ninth Sunday after Pentecost, July 25, by celebrating a Holy Eucharist service, in person and via Zoom, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church Lakeside’s new location, two doors east of, and on the same side as the La Huerta Eventos Center. Rev. Danny Borkowski will celebrate and Deacon Jerry Stiles will give the message “Don’t Tell Anyone” based on The Gospel of Mark. Masks are required.
At noon, those wishing to have brunch/lunch will meet at La Nueva Posada Restaurant, Donato Guerra #9, Ajijic, 376-766-1444.
The Loaves and Fishes Food Distribution will not be held this week.
The Bible study, hosted by Rev. Lakeside Presbyterian
Light travels at 186,000 miles per second, while sound travels at only 1,100 feet per second, producing an amazing spectacle. We see the flash of lightning, then wait for the earth-shaking crash of thunder.
We might compare the lightning to the time that we first become Christians, and the thunder to the day that we go to be with the Lord. Many of we Christians are asleep in our spiritual lives between the lightning and the thunder. Paul gives us instructions in Philippians 2: 12-18 about what we are supposed to be doing between the lightning and the thunder. Dr. Wayne Cook further explores the phenomenon this Sunday, July 25, 9:30 a.m. in his sermon, “Between the Lightning and the Thunder.”

LPC’s continues with weekly despensas improving the nutrition of Lakeside families in need. Thanks to your continued support and generosity, Lakeside Presbyterian Church will expand the feeding program in the next several weeks. The literacy classes are back and adding children who have not attended formal schooling. The church is available for small group meetings and bible study. Please schedule through the LPC office.

The Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is now offering in-person services at the fellowship hall located on the carretera at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar. All Covid-19 protocols are being followed and masks are required. Services begin Sunday, July 25, 10:30 a.m. at the fellowship and by Zoom. Rev. Matt Alspaugh will speak on “The Heart of Humanism.” Humanism describes a religious movement that emphasizes human capabilities, especially the human capacity to reason; that adopted the scientific method to search for truth; and that promoted the right of all humans to develop to their full potential. It’s been a big part of Unitarian Universalism. We’ll explore a bit of its history, orientation and future.
St. Andrew’s Anglican
On the ninth Sunday after Pentecost, July 25, St. Andrews is open for worship. All Covid-19 protocols are followed and masks must be worn. The Reverend Robbin Moore will preach and celebrate Holy Communion.
