If you google “you are what you think about,” you’ll get more than 3,220,000,000 results. This concept is not news. It has been repeated. People from Marcus Aurelius to Mark Twain have repeated it. There are so many options for what to think about....but only a very few are of real value. On Sunday, Sep. 19, Associate Pastor Carolyn Hansen’s sermon is “What are you thinking about?” using Philippians 4:4-23 as the text.
LPC has returned to in-church services. A new starting time of 9:30 a.m. for the English language service and 11 a.m. for the Spanish language service is now in effect. All masking, social distancing, and covid protocols are in place. That includes a maximum of 50 attendees per service. Walk-ins are welcome as the room permits.

St. Andrew’s feeding program collects non-perishable food items to donate to Operation Feed. At present, donations of beans or of cash are most welcome. With cash the program can purchase bulkrice and beans at the lowest prices to help feed even more families. If you opt for a cash donation, pledge envelopes will be available starting this Sunday.

Unitarians
The Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is now offering in-person services at the fellowship hall located on the carretera at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar and via Zoom. The topic of this week’s service is “Transitions: Celebrating Change in Music.” Autumn is the time of transitions, especially lakeside. Here we celebrate the return of our seasonal friends and neighbors from the north, new expats discovering our community, the end of the rainy season, and the transition of the mountains from green to the beautiful yellow flowering trees. This service will be a musical celebration of the transitions we value and celebrate in our lakeside community. The service leader is Kriss Gang.
Little Chapel by the Lake

Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the 17th Sunday after Pentecost, September 19, by celebrating a Holy Eucharist service, in person, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Church Lakeside’s location, two doors east, and on the same side of the La Huerta Eventos Center. Rev. Danny Borkowski will celebrate and give a message “The Argument” based on Mark 9:30-37. Masks are required.

Abundant Life Church
Is there hope for a failed church? If we look at the history of the church we will find much a failure.
