Open Circle

David Rodwell presents “Climate Change” at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, October 3, 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.

Rodwell has a bachelor’s degree in environmental geography and environmental biology, as well as being an expert in alternative energy sources.
In 2017, he joined Al Gore for face-to-face training, earning him the title of Climate Reality Leader and certifying him to present “The Climate Reality Presentation,” made famous by the film “An Inconvenient Truth.”  Rodwell has given this presentation across the United States and Canada, and in Ajijic in 2019. He is one of 20,000 worldwide certified to do so.

Canadian Thanksgiving

Canadians hankering for a traditional Thanksgiving feast may want to get in on the holiday dinner scheduled Monday, October 11, 3 to 6 p.m. at Sunrise Restaurant, Hidalgo 119 on the highway in San Antonio Tlayacapan, sponsored by the Canadian Veterans Support Association. The menu includes roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetable side, gravy, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Tickets, 350 pesos, are available at Kinda Bazar and Kinda Not in Riberas del Pilar, or O’Rourke & Asociados at Centro Laguna.

Juan Mata of Rangers BBQ in El Salto will bring smoked and BBQed meats to go for Canadian Thanksgiving October 10, 11 a.m. to noon at the Chapala Baptist Church. Fundraiser

The Chapala American Legion is holding a silent auction for a Drive Handicapped scooter. Best offer over $US400 takes it. New last year. Three wheeled scooter was only used inside. Stop by the Legion to see it and put in a  bid.

Recycling

Anavets Mexico Unit 19 is taking cardboard and clean and rinsed plastic, glass, tetra packs and metal for recycling Thursdays, noon to 2 p.m. at Mama’s Musical Bar, Gonzalez Gallo 86 in San Antonio.
