John Whitener stepped in for vacationing Pastor John Linton last Sunday and gifted the congregation with a riveting sermon centering on a timeless favorite, Psalm 121.
“Today’s world is polarized to the point of being a lackluster black and white,” he declared. “But Psalm 121 brings us new colors of possibilities, painted by the Creator of all things, and transforming what was a mere possibility into a new reality.”
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help,” begins the Psalm. “Where are your eyes, oh seeker?”
Titled “The Impossible Song,” this teaching clearly laid out many impossible-sounding promises from the most powerful. For example, The Lord will preserve you from all evil. “That’s good news!” he said enthusiastically. “This verse means that nothing shall prevail against you!
“We all follow what we see. God’s promises are true, tested, and certain. Put your eyes on the hill of hills, Calvary, our true source of salvation.”

The Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is now offering in-person services for those who are fully vaccinated at the fellowship hall located on the Carretera at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar (and also on Zoom). Covid-19 protocols are followed and masks are required.
Richard Clarke will speak on “Interoception: How do you know what you feel?” Interoception is how; it’s the process of feeling your internal feelings. There is much scientific interest in this now, in how improving interoception can improve your life, your relationships, and your health. And there are easy ways to improve your interoception. David is perhaps the greatest of all the kings of Israel. He built up a large kingdom; his desire was to follow the Lord. Even after he faltered, he eventually returned to the Lord with a broken spirit. There are great lessons for us in observing his spiritual journey: 1. Shepherd; 2. Soldier; 3. Sovereign; 4. Sinner.
The LPC has returned to in-church services at 9:30 a.m. for the English language service and 11 a.m. for the Spanish language service.

Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the 25th Sunday after Pentecost, All Saints’ Sunday, November 14, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist Service in person and via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. in our location two doors east, and on the same side, of the La Huerta Eventos Center.
Rev. Christine Wysock will celebrate and give a message based on Mark 13:1-8.

Abundant Life Church
¨What do you think?¨ The root of this question is to determine what you believe on a certain subject. Somehow we tend to think that what we believe automatically impacts our actions, but if that were so there would be no need to ask the question, as everyone would know what we think by simply watching us. Come Sunday, November 14, and you won´t be asked what you believe, but rather whom you serve. There are many who believe the correct things, but their life is not safely wrapped up in Jesus. You don’t need to remain a believer, you can be a doer.
