Unitarians

February 13, Building the Beloved Community One Drop at a Time,”will be the topic.

Our goal is to create a beloved community, and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.” —Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“The Beloved Community” is a term that was first coined in the early days of the 20th century by the philosopher-theologian Josiah Royce, who founded the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and later made popular by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Rev. D’Vorah Kelley, an Interfaith Minister and member of LCUUF, will lead the service. The service will include a Story For All Ages: Higgens: A Drop of Water With A Dream. Service Leader is Joan Bellamy.

Lakeside Presbyterian

Pastor Carolyn will give the sermon this week.

We’re beginning a new sermon series we’re calling “Through the Bible.” If you’ve ever wondered exactly what the Bible says, this is where to get an overview. This week we begin at the beginning, with the book of Genesis.

Genesis tells how God brought everything into being. It starts with God, and that’s the best place to start. God is the author of everything and He says it is all good. Then Genesis quickly describes how humans usher sin into creation and spoil it all. Yet, over and over in Genesis’ 50 chapters, we see how God began His work to redeem humanity through the imperfect and dysfunctional families of the biblical patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Bible study is Wednesday, 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The book of Matthew is the current focus of this initial, interactive, study.

In-church services are at 9:30 a.m. for the English language service, and 11 a.m. for the Spanish language service. The live English service is streaming each Sunday on Facebook at Lakeside Presbyterian Church-Chapala. All masking and social distancing protocols are in place.

If you need someone to pick you up to come to church, contact LPC at 376-106-0853.

Lake Chapala Baptist

How can we touch one another with Christ’s love? This is just one of the provocative questions Pastor John Linton built one of his memorable sermons around. Others were: Is your heart hardened? Are we in danger? Where is the outrage in the world today?

As you can see, the weekly services at LCBC are engaging, and anything but shallow, feel-good messages directed at those who avoid challenge, seeking only to be shored up in their spiritual lethargy. After a brief closure, the church is reopening this Sunday, February 13, with its normal service starting at 10:45 a.m.

Share thoughtful weekly sermons, uplifting music, and an ongoing thirst for true wisdom at Lake

Chapala Baptist Church every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Adult Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m., and Bible study groups are Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. Santa Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. Covid protocols are observed.

Abundant Life Church

Is it possible to sow one thing but then harvest something entirely different? While in the world it may not be possible, with God everything is possible. It is possible that after living a life sowing to the sinful nature you can harvest eternal life. This is a very special process that God outlines clearly in His Word. Sunday, February 13, discover the secret of harvesting what wasn´t sown. The secret is found in letting a very special kind of rain fall on us, so don't bring an umbrella this Sunday!

Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Mexico and has services for everyone.
