On Sunday, in keeping with the heart-centered core of Paul’s letter to the Philippians, our pastor brought us a message overflowing with love and gratitude.
“Thank you Lord, for what you’re doing in our midst,” he said in his opening prayer. “Thank you for your service-hearted people, for your people who are faithful, who have abilities in this church, thank you God for this lovely expression of your body of Christ.”
He continued, “Paul loved every single member of his church and spoke straight into their hearts, demonstrating to us clearly how to love one another by expressing kindness and compassion, by praying and by speaking truth, by loving, and by service. This is what is important and meaningful in the kingdom of God.
“I love God’s church, I love His people,” he told us. “If you are in Christ, then you are a saint! Let us all remember to hold our brothers and sisters in our hearts… where they can never escape.”

Lakeside Presbyterian
Sunday, April 3, Pastor Wayne, will give the sermon “Better than seven sons.”
In Chapter 3 the Book of Ecclesiastes says that there’s a season for everything. We look back on our lives and notice the many important landmarks: births, deaths, marriages, jobs.
The Book of Ruth pinpoints some significant times. It is a love story—not a romantic one, but one between two unrelated women who adopt each other as mother and daughter. The key word is hope. When life appears hopeless, there will always be hope and God.
Bible study is Wednesday, 10 a.m., in the church sanctuary. The book of Matthew is the current focus of this initial, interactive, study.
In-church services are at 9:30 a.m. (English) and 11 a.m. (Spanish). The live English service streams each Sunday on Facebook at Lakeside Presbyterian Church-Chapala or at lpc-chapala.org. All masking and social distancing protocols are in place.

Christ Church Lakeside
Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the fifth Sunday in Lent, April 3, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist service in person and via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. in our location with the red door and windows next door to the Smokehouse. Rev. Jim Powers will celebrate and give a message “The Costs of Being a Servant,” based on John 12:1-8. Masks are required. Little Chapel
Sunday, April 3, at the 11 a.m. praise and worship service, Pastor Pete Campbell will speak and share from the word of God in the book of Matthew. Feasting at the King’s Table is the sermon title for this series.

Donations for Little Chapel’s food mission in San Juan Tecomatlan are always gladly accepted via the big purple box in front of the Chapel. We are able to also contribute to local boys home, Mama Cleo’s, via the contributions to the purple box. Tuesday April 5, join the monthly food distribution to San Juan Tecoman and meet at the Chapel, 3 p.mto carpool.
Saturday, April 2, the boys from Mama Cleo’s will be manning a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Little Chapel to raise funds for their many expenses.

Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship services are Sundays, 10:30 a.m. In person services are now available. Abundant Life Church
How does God view sin? Most will freely proclaim that God hates sin. As believers we are to live free of sin, but how? We live in an environment that not only accepts sin, we are actually encouraged to sin. God has given us all we need to live the victorious life that He want us to live. Come Sunday, April 3, to discover some of the ways we can live sin-free in the middle of a sinful world. You will also have an opportunity on Sunday to witness some who are growing as they obey the Lord’s command to be baptized.

Gringo Men’s Bible study
Gringo Men’s Bible study group continues to meet every Thursday at 9 a.m., but its meeting place has moved to Min Wah Chinese Restaurant, three blocks north of Donas Donuts. The Bible study is nondenominational and open to all faiths. Coffee fellowship starts at 8:45 a.m. and the message and American-style breakfast start at 9 a.m.
The Woman’s Bible study group meets at the same time and place.
