Christ Church Lakeside, a parish of the Diocese of the West in the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe the fifth Sunday of Easter, May 15, by celebrating the Holy Eucharist service in person and via Zoom at 10:30 a.m. in our location with the red door and windows next door to the Smokehouse.
Rev. Linda Ramos will celebrate and give a message based on John 13:31-35. Those wishing to have brunch/lunch will meet at noon in Yves’s Restaurant, Carretera West, Ajijic, 376-766-3565.

Lakeside Presbyterian
Sunday, May 15, Pastor Wayne, will talk about worship.
A few years ago there was a little song called, “The heart of worship.” The chorus says, “I’m comin’ back to the heart of worship,
And it’s all about You,
It’s all about You, Jesus.”
There is a similar theme of “the heart of worship” in First Chronicles. First and second Chronicles were originally one book. First Chronicles focuses on King David and Second Chronicles on King Solomon. A “chronicle” is a story arranged in a specific order.
The people were looking back to the greatest time of the Kingdom of Israel when David and Solomon were kings.
1 Chronicles was written about 100 years after 1 and 2 Kings. The southern kingdom of Judah had been conquered and the people carried off into captivity. As some were being allowed to return, they still carried the pains of their captivity, and even now they were in desperate circumstances. So the author, perhaps Ezra, is saying let’s avoid pain and hardship by getting back to the heart of worship.
In-church services are at 9:30 a.m. (English) and 11 a.m. (Spanish). The live English service streams each Sunday on Facebook at Lakeside Presbyterian Church-Chapala or at lpc-chapala.org. All masking and social distancing protocols are in place.
St. Andrew’s Anglican
St. Andrew’s Anglican is open for worship every Sunday. All Covid protocols are followed, and masks must be worn.

Pastor John Linton’s current series, “Christ Exalted Through our Radiant Joy,” brought to last Sunday’s congregation brilliant moments from many of the apostle Paul’s letters. Touching on words of deepest devotion and hope found in Philippians, Romans, Corinthians, and Timothy, the sermon amassed inescapable evidence that Christians are in a unique position to ‘finish well a life well-lived.’
“The gospel cuts through all cultural and societal belief systems,” Pastor John told us. “The power of the gospel is explosive! It is our sure and certain deposit in God, our enduring confidence that God will not disappoint.
“The gospel changes lives, little by little or all at once. It decimates sin and sets the believer free. Paul wrote that he was not ashamed of the gospel, and Jesus said ‘My sheep hear my voice: I know them and they know me. I gave them eternal life and no one will ever snatch them from my hand.’
“Christians, you are God’s workmanship; He is doing the work in you. You are to be steadfast, a solid rock in the Kingdom of God. Does the gospel shine through your life? Share it truthfully, and have confidence in it, that Christ will be magnified in your life and the lives of those who have ears to hear.”

Unitarians
Sunday, May 15, Rev. Matt Alspaugh will present “Meditations on Beauty.” We all have a sense of beautiful things when we encounter them, and they can carry us away into profound emotion, even move us to tears. Is beauty inherent in the world? Or is beauty simply “in the eye of the beholder?” Or is beauty a cultural thing, something we learn as we move through the world? We’ll explore these questions as we explore the nature of beauty. Dee Dee Camhi will be the service eader.
Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship services are Sundays, 10:30 a.m. In person services are now available. Masks will be required and safe distance spacing of chairs will be practiced. The Carretera at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar.
Little Chapel
Sunday, May 15, Pastor Pete Campbell will speak and share from the Word of God in the book of Matthew. Feasting at the King’s Table is the sermon title for this series. Join us at the 11 a.m. praise and worship service of the Little Chapel by the Lake, located on the Ajijic Chapala highway #10 in Chula Vista.
Thursday, May 19, 4 p.m., the video series on “Healing Journeys” will be screened.

Saturday the boys from Mama Cleo’s will have a car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Little Chapel to raise funds for their many expenses.
