Transit along Calle Niza, an alternate route for bypassing central Chapala, has been enhanced significantly with the newly completed rehabilitation of the street’s steepest segment.
Calle Niza is a pathway that links the Barrio de Lourdes at Chapala’s west end to Tepehua and other neighborhoods in the city’s upper north sector. Accessed via Avenida Lourdes, opposite the Hotel Villa Montecarlo, it is a convenient way to escape traffic jams that often occur on Avenida Hidalgo. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony held Tuesday, June 21, Chapala Mayor Alejandro Aguirre acknowledged that the government faces urgent tasks to carry out street repairs in many other parts of the municipality.
