Our feeding program collects non-perishable food items to donate to “Operation Feed,” which feeds about 140 families in and around San Juan Cosalá. At present, we’re eager for donations of rice, beans or especially cash. Cash allows us to buy at bulk for the lowest prices to help feed even more families. If you opt for a cash donation, envelopes marked “Rice” or “Beans” are available every Sunday. If you sign your name to the envelope, your offering will be recorded as a church donation.

Decluttering? Clearing out your closet? If you are, please don’t forget our own resale shop, Todo Bueno. Every donation or consignment you make benefits the Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew’s. Be it clothing, kitchenware, electronics, books, bric-a-brac, furniture, appliances, collectables, sports equipment, etc., bringing it to Todo Bueno enables our parish to financially support a number of charities around Lakeside.  Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Coffee and cookies: A wonderful time for meeting friends and greeting newcomers. Please join us. We’d be grateful for volunteers to provide cookies. Those interested can sign up via the sign-up sheet near the garden pathway.

Lakeside Presbyterian

Pastor Carolyn, will talk this week about “The fear of the Lord” is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7.

All of us want to be wise. Why do we want wisdom? Some of us want to be wise in order to be secure, so no one will take advantage of us. But that’s a limited sort of “wisdom.” The book of Proverbs in the Old Testament of the Bible gives us a much bigger picture of what true wisdom is—alongside some very practical teaching that can be useful every day of your life.

Service starting time is  9:30 a.m. for the English-language service and 11 am. for the Spanish-language service.

The live English service streams each Sunday on Facebook at Lakeside Presbyterian Church-Chapala or at lpc-chapala.org.

If you need a ride, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Coffee and refreshments after the service will be in the Narthex.

Lake Chapala Baptist

“Do you have a heart for poor lost sinners?” This was the question Pastor Linton repeated over and over during last Sunday’s sermon, until it finally started to sink in.

“Jesus wept at the outskirts of Jerusalem, the Bible says, but the translation is closer to ‘Jesus sobbed.’ He wept out of the profundity of his love for the unsaved. His heart bursting in pain and compassion, Jesus saw souls made for eternal glory, but lost in skepticism and unbelief.

“Do you have a heart for poor lost sinners, as our Lord does? Like Him, do you understand the worth of human souls, their potential as grand as the whole of heaven? Do you weep for them too? Look heavenward. You will see the tears of Christ still flowing today. Plead with God on their behalf, and pray for your own soul. Pray, beloveds, pray.”

Next Sunday, LCBC will offer a special evangelical service at 10:45 a.m.; don’t miss it, and bring a friend or neighbor.

Where can you turn? Come this Sunday, July 10, as we discuss God’s plan. His plan is the only one that will lead us out of the disaster we are in: personally, nationally and globally.
