The Oscars celebrate artisans of all mediums of work from musicians to set designers to photographers to costumers and screenwriters … and the Ajijic Society of the Arts (ASA) is gathering to witness all of it.
Don’t forget the red carpet fashion, it is a great way to start the evening. Movie enthusiasts are invited to attend and will be gathering at The Cocktail Bar Sunday, March 12, 5:30 p.m.
The kitchen and bar will be open with their regular menu items. All TV’s will be tuned in to capture the drama and excitement of the last year in film. The cost to attend is 100 pesos.
This will be a fundraiser for ASA and they expect to put the FUN in FUNdraiser. Fashion score cards will be available as the best dressed celebrities are rated. There will be an Oscar ballot competition and for 100 pesos you can choose your favorites and hope to win a movie-themed prize. 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold for 50 pesos … so you won’t be taking home a golden statuette, but you might have a little more cash in your pocket.
Movie trivia will happen during the commercial breaks to keep you entertained. And although red carpet attire is not mandatory, if you feel like donning a cocktail gown and dressing for the occasion, there will be a gift certificate awarded to the favorite fashionista.
