Democrats Abroad Lake Chapala continues its 10th Annual “Movies That Matter” Film Festival for week three.
Special note: This year there are also Thursday screenings during the festival. See ad in today’s paper on page 10.
Be sure to join the Dems for these movies, as the end of the Festival is nearing:
• “The Fight” (Sun, March 19) looks at the heroic lawyers working on the front lines of four American Civil Liberties Union campaigns—for abortion, immigration, LGBTQ+ and voting rights. It makes a passionate case for the legal battles ACLU wages.
• “Pelosi in the House” (Thur, March 23) documents the amazing career of Nancy Pelosi, the first Madam Speaker of the House of Representatives. It’s billed as a home movie by documentary maker Alexandra Pelosi (Nancy’s daughter).
Both screenings start at 1:30 p.m. Buy tickets at the box office at Cine+Lago Theater in Plaza Bugambilias in Ajijic.
