Operation Feed: Our feeding program buys non-perishable food to donate to “Operation Feed,” which feeds about 150 families in and around San Juan Cosalá. You’re invited to attend a two-part journey covering the history of Anglican music, led by Brother Jonathan Wheat. Wednesday, April 19 he’ll cover “Anglican Music History; How we got here.” April 26, the theme is “Anglican Music and Liturgy; what makes our music unique and beautiful.” Both sessions will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s.

Sunday, March 26, the topic is “Teaching English: A New Experience.”
Teaching for the first time! Ron Avalon has taken on the challenge of teaching English at an elementary school in the Lakeside area, and he will share with us what it has been like to undergo this opportunity. Dee Dee Camhi, who has worked in the field of English as a Second Language since the mid 1970’s will be his service associate.
Sunday, April 2, Rev. Matt Alspaugh will discuss “Getting Out of Our Heads.” Gary Young will be the guest musician and June Wilson will be the service associate.

Heart of Awareness
The Heart of Awareness (HoA) Buddhist Community offers opportunities to meditate together at the Practice Center (Guadalupe Victoria 101, Ajijic) on Sundays and Wednesdays. We also offer dharma talks, study groups, and films.
Beginning Friday, March 24th at 4 pm and ending Sunday, March 26th at noon we are offering a non-residential retreat at Heart of Awareness, Guadalupe Victoria 101, Ajijic, with senior teacher Marty Janowitz on the topic of “Equanimity Amidst Uncertainty”. The retreat will include dharma talks, meditation practice, discussion, and the opportunity to have private sessions with senior teachers. The cost is 500 pesos.
On Monday, March 27th, we will offer a film matinee from 3-5 pm. This month’s selection is: “Becoming Nobody” by Ram Dass.
Wednesday, March 29, the meditation period is from 4 to 5 p.m. From 5 to 6 p.m. two dharma videos by Jon Aaron, teacher at New York Insight Meditation Center, will be screened. At 6 p.m. there will be an opportunity to have dinner and socialize at a nearby restaurant.
The Wednesday program is also offered via Zoom. You’ll find the link on the website, heartofawareness.org.
Thursday, March 30, a weekly practice and book study group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. It begins with a twenty-minute meditation period and then reading and discussion of the current book selection: “In Love with the World: A Monk’s Journey Through the Bardos of Living and Dying” by Tibetan master teacher Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. You do not need to own the book to attend. Afterward, our library is open for browsing from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

It is the time of year where the fine dust settles everywhere. Have you noticed how much easier it is to slip on the tile floor that you always walk on without a problem? Just as the conditions around us affect the stability we previously enjoyed, often without even noticing until it is too late, we can be affected by the spiritual environment around us that we didn’t even know had changed. We need to be careful to keep our stability firmly on the trusted Rock of Jesus and the reliable scriptures that He has given us. Come this Sunday, March 26, as we try to clear the fine dust off our spiritual walkways so that we won’t fall.
