Treasure House is a safe house for sexually exploited young girls. Some of our precious treasures have been and are at high risk of being found by the very people who abused them, so we try to keep a low profile and stay out of the public eye. As much as we’d like to rescue each and every child, have chosen to only house a maximum of 15 girls at one time in order to keep that needed family feel.

Treasure House is currently in need of:

• White gloss and grey exterior paint for the house

• A new washing machine

• A new stove/oven combo.

• New shoes & socks for the girls - an ongoing need

• Painting and craft supplies

Love In Action Children’s Home is a trauma-informed shelter for girls who have suffered abuse or neglect. Founded by Anabel Frutos, a determined woman with a traumatic past and a heart for the homeless and hungry children of Mexico, Love in Action has cared for over 1,000 children in Chapala since its humble beginnings in 2000.

We love the girls who come into our care, and believe that they can heal from and overcome traumatic pasts. For that reason, our staff is regularly trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention—a proven model of trauma-informed care that puts connecting and empowering at the center of life in our home.

But we can’t do this work without the help of our community!

Love in Action is currently in need of:

• Donations for our bazaar, which directly supports the home (old clothes, furniture, shoes, decorations, etcetera).

• Volunteers in areas of academic tutoring, nutrition, landscaping, building maintenance, and much more.

• Sponsorship for our staff! For $US30 per month, you can help support the incredible caregivers who work with our girls. Visit our website for more information.
