Michael Hogan, the Guadalajara-based author, poet and historian, received the Millennium Writers Nonfiction Award for 2023.
The award, which carries a $US1,000 cash prize and publication, was selected from over 3,200 entries worldwide by a panel of editors who read the essays anonymously.
Hogan will be giving a talk at the Open Circle of the Lake Chapala Society Sunday, December 3 at 10:30 a.m. His topic will be based on his recent book, “Mexicans and Mexican Americans, Remarkable Lives, Unforgettable Stories.” Some of the unusual stories in the book first appeared in the Guadalajara Reporter over the last year and are lively and entertaining.
