The Romeos, Lake Chapala’s Superband, will entertain at a St. Patrick’s Day dance party hosted by Jorge’s Place to benefit Niños Incapacitados.
This fun-filled event for a great cause will take place on Monday, March 17, starting at 4 p.m. The cover charge is 300 pesos per person, and with limited seating, only 100 tickets are available. Reservations are required and can be made by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to (+52) 33-2598-6705.
All proceeds from raffles and a 50/50 draw will benefit the Niños Incapacitados program, which assists Mexican families in need of financial aid to cover expenses for children battling serious or life-threatening illnesses. The organization relies solely on donations, fundraising activities, and the support of its volunteers. For more information, visit www.programaninos.com.
The Los Romeos rock band features Wes Cogan, Todd Jones, Andrew McKechnie, Rod Struss, Javier Villaseñor, Wayne Watson, and lead singers Pauline Proulx and Lorenzo “Elmo” Henrique, who perform regularly at various local gigs.
Elmo, originally from Venezuela, is not only a talented entertainer but also a man with a heart of gold. He moved to Mexico about five years ago, initially planning to settle in Guadalajara, but got waylaid at Lakeside during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, he has been instrumental in organizing Los Romeos to support charitable causes.
Elmo is also remembered for his powerful performance of “Luck Be a Lady” from “Guys and Dolls” at the 2023 Broadway for the Boys show at Lakeside Little Theater. He and Los Romeos most recently rocked the house at Scallion Bistro’s Valentine’s Day dinner dance, another fundraiser for the boys’ home.
Elmo and Los Romeos have a history of boosting Niños Incapacitados’ finances, including drawing crowds to “Get Back,” the annual Beatles tribute held in January. This time, they’re giving a nod to “Go Green” for the St. Patrick’s Day party.
