We host almost every Shabbat of the year, with home cooked kosher Friday night dinners and Saturday luncheons in a nonjudgmental and friendly atmosphere. We are here to provide for the material, spiritual, and educational needs of every Jew in the community, regardless of background or affiliation, with unconditional love and concern.

Lake Chapala Baptist

True understanding is not gained through human effort but is revealed by God. In the scripture, we see many instances of human reasoning conflicting with divine truth. Jesus faced opposition from various groups due to their lack of spiritual understanding. The religious leaders rejected Him out of pride, relying on their own wisdom instead of recognizing Him as the Messiah. His own family doubted Him while His hometown dismissed Him as just a carpenter. The crowds sought a political ruler rather than a Savior and turned away when He did not meet their expectations, and even His disciples struggled to understand Jesus’ mission. Peter, after receiving divine revelation, still opposed Jesus’ prediction of suffering. All these instances reveal the conflict between flesh and Spirit. But do not worry, for faith comes through divine revelation from the Father, by the Spirit, to His own.

Common Ground

Fellowship

“Evangelism: God’s Plan for All Nations,” from John 14:6; Acts 10:9-16.

Join us this coming Sunday as Dr. Wayne Cook brings us this message regarding evangelism: The Bible tells us that someone who does not know Jesus is lost. I have been lost several times while driving. On one occasion, my GPS was not working properly. I drove in circles, trying to find my way, feeling more and more frustrated. But as bad as being physically lost can be, being spiritually lost is far worse. A lost person is separated from God, without hope, and in danger of eternal judgment.
If we share Christ with someone, we show them how not to be lost—we show them the way. In fact, the earliest name for believers was not ‘Christians,’ but ‘The Way.’ Remember that Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you believe Jesus, this truth is critically important. There is no other way to be saved.

Common Ground Fellowship meets on Sundays, at Margaritaville in West Ajijic at 11 a.m. We have a blended and bilingual service, and focus on service to our community.

Eckankar

Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.

The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.

But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?

Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.

Heritage Baptist Church

Hebrews chapter 11 is all about faith. The writer cites the stories of famous Christian ancestors and their incredible gifts of faith, great victories, miraculous stories, and works of courage and power through the hand of God.

Every believer’s assurance is their title deed to a home prepared for them in heaven. We know the righteous live by faith, and in Hebrews’ Hall of Faith we witness saintly examples of how we can all live in faith, no matter the situation.

Christians all share this gracious gift of faith. There is one faith, one salvation, one Lord, and one baptism. Those who truly live in faith—not just acting as if they have it, but really living it—enjoy the blessing of certainty that the Bible is accurate, true, and 100% sufficient.

When was the last time you stepped out in faith to fulfill God’s urging? The life of faith is an extraordinary life lived for God. Stand firm, take action and trust your sovereign Lord.

Come Sunday, March 30, as we take time to reflect on just how much the Lord loves us and how that expresses itself at times.
