Eckankar

Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.

The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.

But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?

Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.

Lake Chapala Baptist

Trying to outrun God never works—we may change our location, but we can’t escape His pres-ence or His purpose. Jonah boarded a ship in the opposite direction of his calling, thinking distance could silence God’s voice. But instead of giving up on him, God sent a storm—not to punish, but to redirect. When we resist God’s leading, He sometimes uses life’s disruptions to get our attention and draw us back. Jonah’s story reminds us that God’s plans are sovereign, even when we run. His grace follows us, even in depths of despair. If you find yourself avoiding what God is asking of you, remember—He’s not chasing you to condemnation, but to call you back to where you be-long. Psalm 103:19 says, “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules overall.”

Common Ground

At Common Ground Fellowship we strive to be a community of believers who work together to make Christianity look like a good idea to a world in need of the Love of God. We do so through worship, teaching, fellowship, and community service, so that we might, as a group of believers, love our neighbors as ourselves. This Sunday, June 1, Dr. Ted Rogers will be talking on the topic of what it is to experience God. Just as art can be looked upon, studied, even admired, so can our God. However, just as we are transformed when our interaction with art moves beyond the surface to an internalization, so too are our lives transformed when our understanding of God moves from the academic to the experiential. Also, we are excited to announce that this Sunday is our inauguration of Children’s Church, to run simultaneously with our adult service beginning at 11 a.m. Carr. Lakeside Presbyterian

The sermon for Sunday, June 1, is “ I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life” from John 14:6-7.

Who is Jesus? We know a lot about what people say about Jesus. But Jesus had a lot to say about who he is. There are several I AM statements in the Gospel of John that Jesus used to describe himself. One of the most controversial is “I AM the way, the truth, and the life.” Is Jesus truly the only way to God?

English language service begins at 10 a.m. at Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs to the service.

Join us for coffee and refreshments after the service.

Heritage Baptist Church

Most Christians are familiar with the story of how God used Jonathan Edwards in the first GreatAwakening that swept through New England and all thirteen colonies in the late 1730s and early 1740s. Despite God using Edward’s in such a momentous way, a major schism erupted based on non-doctrinal accusations and in 1750 the church voted Jonathan Edwards out of the pulpit.

The danger of resisting God’s leaders still exists today negating the biblical purpose of protecting, guiding, and sanctifying the church and resulting in schisms and division in churches which has multiplied in our day. Thus, it is important for congregations to call biblical leaders, and submit to them as God ordained. The writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews has worked hard to encourage the Hebrew Christians to not return to their former roots which are annulled through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But to recognize how God works under the New Covenant and follow three important instructions, Submission, honorable leadership, and prayer.
