A celebration of iconic singer Frank Sinatra’s birthday takes place on Friday, December 12 at El Bar Co. restaurant, with all proceeds benefiting Niños Incapacitados.
This year marks Sinatra’s 110th birthday—had he lived—and the 51st anniversary of Niños Incapacitados, the longest-serving charity at Lakeside.
The event, titled “Sinatra Birthday Bash: Celebrate the Music,” will feature prize-winning “Frank Trivia” questions, with Ol’ Blue Eyes prizes awarded for correct answers. Elmo James, lead singer for the Traficantes Rock ’n’ Latin Band and The Romeos, will take the stage to perform many of Sinatra’s most beloved songs. Between sets, D.J. Carlos will spin additional Sinatra classics.
Dinners and drinks will be available for purchase during the event. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner orders taken from 5:30–7 p.m. (with customers paying for their meals). The performance is 7–8:30 p.m. El Bar Co. will also offer a Sinatra Special: Jack Daniels on the rocks (a possible nod to Sinatra’s favorite drink) for 100 pesos.
Tickets are 600 pesos each, with all proceeds going to Niños Incapacitados. Limited seating is available, so early reservations are encouraged. Tickets can be purchased online at programaninos.com. El Bar Co. is located on the mountain side of the Carretera highway in Ajijic, just west of the Pemex gas station.
Niños Incapacitados is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that helps Mexican families pay for ongoing medical expenses related to serious disabilities or life-threatening illnesses, including cancer, seizures, heart defects and organ failure. The charity serves families throughout Lakeside, from Jocotepec to Chapala and San Pedro.
