Christ Church Lakeside
At Christ Church Lakeside, Anglican Church of Mexico, we respond to God’s grace through Jesus Christ by seeking His will daily—nurturing one another through prayer, service, and sharing our gifts. All are welcome in our church family.
We invite the community to join us each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for worship and communion. This week, Dawn Radel will give the message entitled “ The Opposite of Illusion.” The turning of the year offers a moment to reflect, renew hope, and look ahead with faith, trusting in God’s continued guidance and grace. At our church, we seek to grow together through worship, prayer, and acts of service, caring for one another and reaching out in love to those around us. Whether you are new to the area, seeking a church home, or simply curious, you are warmly welcome to be part of our life together in the year ahead.
No matter where you are in your faith walk, you are welcome to join us-we are all seekers.
We are located at Carretera 518 in West Ajijic, next to the Smokehouse Restaurant. Facebook: Christ Church Lakeside Ajijic.
Lakeside Presbyterian
Sunday, January 4, Pastor Carolyn Hansen will give the sermon, “Why We Gather to Worship,” based on Acts 2:38-47.
Some people say they feel closest to God alone in nature. That’s understandable. But Scripture shows us that worship isn’t only about what we feel—it’s about what we offer to God together.
This Sunday, we begin a new sermon series on worship by asking a foundational question: Why do Christians worship together? Acts 2 reminds us that worship shapes who we are, forms us as God’s people, and stands at the very heart of what it means to be the Church. Join us as we explore why gathering for worship still matters—and why it always has.
English language service is at 10 a.m. at Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs. For those with limited mobility, there’s also a small elevator at the front. Join us for coffee and refreshments after the service.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Rev. Gary Kowalski presents “The People’s Poet” at the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Sunday, January 4, noon.
In times like these—when faith perverted in the service of power, when lies masquerade as truth, when authoritarianism is on the rise, when fools and scoundrels occupy the seats of government—it’s helpful to remember what the poet Carl Sandburg wrote in his poem Upstream,
“The strong men keep coming on.
They go down, shot, hanged, sick, broken.
They live on fighting, singing, lucky as plungers,
The strong mothers pulling them on.
The strong mothers pulling them from a dark sea, a great prairie, a long mountain.”
This morning, Rev. Kowalski returns to Ajijic with a message of resilience and resistance sourced from the verse of the People’s Poet.
Michael Swords is the service associate.
All services are at St. Andrews Anglican Church, San Lucas 19, Riberas de Pilar.

Common Ground Fellowship at Little Chapel
As we look forward into the new year, why don’t you join us at Common Ground Fellowship at Little Chapel this Sunday when Dr. Ted Rogers will be talking about this subject as a believer: Pilgrims Should Make Progress. Christians are meant to move forward in our relationship with God. Growth, depth, transformation are essential to our walks and essential to our inheritance and what it will look like. So come explore with us this crucial aspect of our lives in Christ.
Common Ground Fellowship at Little Chapel is a bilingual, dynamic, friendly, and all-inclusive place to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that the church exists primarily for the benefit of those outside it as we seek to make the love of Christ known to others by serving our community in word and actions.
Donations of food and clothing for our numerous missions along the shores of Lake Chapala are always gladly accepted via our big purple box in front of the Chapel. Saturday’s car wash fundraiser for Mam Cleo’s boys’ home is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
