Robert Ashin and Jill Flyer, both internationally recognized photographers, are launching a Photography Club open to anyone — amateur or professional — with a love of photography.
The first meeting will be a get-to-know-you social gathering on Thursday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mario’s 2 restaurant, located in the Hotel Yollotzin at Hidalgo 22 in Ajijic. Though Ajijic offers numerous opportunities for exhibiting photography — including a former gallery owned by Flyer and Luis Mancera McCormick — a dedicated photography club has never existed here.
The founders plan to discuss with attendees what direction the club should take. Possibilities include exhibits, tours to outlying villages, guest speakers, exploring new advancements in photography, creating a Facebook page, and social hours where members can share experiences, techniques and their creative journeys.
