Many of us want to support the effort for the rights of LGBTIQ+ people but we do not believe that activism is for us. However, there are many ways in which we can help and collaborate with civil organizations or in a personal way, to start a cultural change in our environment. From the “like,” supporting LGBTIQ+ artists, to demonstrating in the streets.
Rob Hernández presents a panoramic view in which all of us can be part of the creation of a more inclusive society, in which no matter your sexual orientation, you have the freedom to be and to live your way.
Hernández is a Mexican cultural manager and promoter. Committed to the fight for the recognition of LGBT+ rights, he has managed and produced national and international projects that promote respect and non-discrimination. He has worked with civil organizations for ten years in the area of communication and cultural management.

Democrats Abroad
Monday, June 21, 4-5 p.m., the Lake Chapala Chapter of Democrats Abroad hosts two immigration activists who will present their perspectives on the ongoing efforts to achieve U.S. immigration reform.
This free Zoom talk will focus on the “Right to Return” and what is under way to help bring separated families together again. This will be a highly relevant talk for Lakeside viewers as Mexico is home to more deported spouses, parents and children of U.S. citizens; deported veterans; and exiled Americans, than any other country in the world.
The speakers will be Tran Dang, executive director of The Rhizome Center for Migrants, a nonprofit organization providing post-deportation legal, advocacy and reintegration support in Mexico.
