Open Circle

Loreta Downs presents “Completing Your LCS Post-Life and Emergency Registry Form” at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, October 17, 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.

Most health care emergencies involve many people. Some are known to you, some are not. The more information they have, the better your outcome.

The process of handling a death in Mexico is very different from one north of the border. Whether you’re here full time, part time, or just visiting, registering your two-page LCS Post Life and Emergency document will make a difference in your quality of life — and death.

Downs is a gerontologist, thanatologist and certified senior advisor whose mission is to educate people on how to improve the end-of-life process.

In-person attendance is by prior reservation only at opencircleajijic.org and depends on space as dictated by Jalisco distancing and sanitary regulations.

Note: this Open Circle presentation will be an introduction to Downs’ upcoming two-part workshop that will give you the valuable information, guidance and motivation to complete your emergency registry document. The two-part session to follow will be on Thursdays, November 11 and 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Chapala Birders

Tuesday, October 19, the Lake Chapala Birders will meet at 8:15 a.m. at La Cristina on the west side of Ajijic. The group will bird for about two hours. Expect to see some shore birds and some birds in the tall trees along the street. At about 10:15 a.m. they will head for Fonda Doña Lola for breakfast and to complete the bird list.

Bird-walks are open to all those interested in birds, both beginners and experienced birders.

How to get there: Drive about two miles west from Calle Colon, look for signs for Hacienda La Cristina (near signs for Las Palmas, a bus stop and a vivero), turn down to the lake, and park close to the lake.
