Social security woes

Have you had problems with the U.S. Social Security “Proof of Life” form (SSA-7162)?

U.S. Social Security recipients living abroad are supposed to receive this form regularly via the local postal system and they are required to return the signed, filled out form, or lose their benefits.

Reporter contributor John Pint is researching the process of receiving and returning this form. If you have had any problems with this, please share your story with John at This email address is being protected from spambots.
