Open Circle
Michael Reason will present “Who Needs a Conductor?” at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, August 24, 10:30 a.m. in the garden of the Lake Chapala Society.

Most people have no real idea about what a musical conductor actually does. Arm waving, gesticulation on the podium all whilst the orchestra plays its heart out and then the conductor turns around, takes a bow and leaves the stage. Is that it? Michael Reason, a conductor for the past three decades of orchestras in Canada, Europe, Asia and Mexico, will take the audience into the world of conducting and what a conductor actually does. Musical examples will abound and members of the audience will even get the opportunity to do some baton waving!
