New Year’s Eve options

• American Legion Post 7 will host an all-you-can-eat large shrimp and fried chicken feast, 2 to 6 pm., with music by Jeffree White and BlackWater Rock and Blues Band. Tickets, 400 pesos, at the Legion. Proceeds to Charales de Chapala.

The Lakeside Singers and Santa Claus spent several days last week caroling at three local assisted-living facilities, bringing joy to many residents.

 

Solar hot water project

 

Chapala Sunrise Rotary Club is raising funds to procure a solar hot water system for the San Pedro Itxiacan Poco a Poco Community Center, which they hope to have installed by February 2026. This is an essential component to the operational safety of the community center kitchen that has grown to serve more than 180 meals per day for local children. Oriental vibes
