Laguna Chapalac - May 11, 2013

The Lakeside Friends of the Animals (LFA) has been providing spay and neuter surgeries and emergency treatment for the pets of Mexicans of limited means since 2006.

They now need your help.

Currently, 40 sterilizations and five emergency treatments are provided each month through the Ladron de Guevara veterinary clinic in Riberas del Pilar.

LFA is also committed to educating Mexican children on the humane treatment of animals. To achieve that end, LFA has allied itself with the Humane Education Alliance to create a program to be offered in 51 schools.

St. Andrew’s Anglican

The Seventh Sunday of Easter has always been a difficult one.  It follows the spooky, mysterious Ascension of the resurrected Jesus, an event which the earliest believers had trouble dealing with.  Jesus had been alive, then dead, then alive again and with them.  Now, 40 days later, He was gone again!  What were they to do now?  What do we modern believers do when we feel that same sense of absence or even abandonment by God?  This week’s sermon at St. Andrew’s, “On Our Own,” tries to come to terms with that very real, and still contemporary, spiritual crisis.  The Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. and concludes with a time of welcome, refreshment, and fellowship in the garden.

The Church is located at Calle San Lucas 19, just a block south of the Carretera in Riberas del Pilar.

Sunday, May 19, 4 p.m., the Center’s “Third Sunday Movie” will be “Peaceful Warrior.”  All are welcome to join in any or all activities.  For more information, contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
