Abbeyfield, Ajijic’s deluxe assisted living facility for self-reliant seniors is throwing an open house on August 27 to show off available accommodations, its newly installed solar power system and other amenities.
The complex of casitas and en suite units is conveniently located at Paseo del Lago 9, just east of Calle Pedro Moreno and directly opposite the outdoor forum at the Malecon park.
Doors will be open from 3 to 5 p.m., with complimentary wine and cheese refreshments for the guests.Abbeyfield staff, management and volunteers will be on hand to show guests around the facility and provide information about services and current vacancies. Representatives of E2 Energies will also be there to introduce the new solar set-up and full details about similar green energy systems available for lakeside area homes.
Abbeyfield has been housing mature adults at lakeside for more than seven years. It operates as a registered Mexican non-profit association under the company name Casas Carinosas, A.C.
The association is affiliated with Abbeyfield global network of non-profits that offer accommodations and services specially geared for seniors living in 25 territories across seven continents. It is an organization noted for a distinguished history going back to the 1950’s.
Residents of Abbeyfield Ajijic enjoy a shared living experience while housed in private quarters furnished with their own belongings. There is a well-equipped kitchen supplied with larder for making breakfast and lunch. The house manager prepares and serves nutritious evening repasts. Other staff and the Abbeyfield volunteers provide support and security for happy, healthy, comfortable and independent living in Mexico’s most popular expatriate haven.
There are currently openings for male and female residents in two en suite units located in the main house and two detached casitas. Affordable rental rates vary according to room size and the number of occupants.
Key features of the well-appointed facility include a communal lounge, dining room, a lovely garden and stunning views of Lake Chapala.
