US Coast Guard lends a hand in Vallarta

Crew members of the USCGC Active, a United States Coast Guard medium endurance cutter, rolled up their sleeves to help out at Puerto Vallarta community projects last week.

Nine enlisted men painted and fixed electrical and plumbing installations at a local food bank, while others unloaded a truck replete with donations from Guadalajara. The activity was organized by the American Legion Post 14 in Puerto Vallarta.

Commented Tayna Anderson, the U.S. Consul General in Guadalajara: “These members of the Coastguard represent the best of the United States.  Community events such as these forge stronger ties between our societies and make us all safer.”
