Patsy Cline
Northshore residents who missed a recent performance of “Remembering Patsy Cline” are in luck as Mikki Post will reprise the show on Friday, March 9 at the Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta and in Bucerias on March 13 at Los Arroyos Verde.
Get ready for a foot stompin’, hand clappin’, tear jerkin’ sing-a-long, down-home time, as Post reveals the highs and lows of the famed country singer’s life, paying tribute through song and storytelling by performing long-time hits such as “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams,” her signature song “Crazy” and many, many more.
Post is a 20-plus year resident of Vallarta and has appeared at the Santa Barbara Theater, the Palm, the Boutique Theater, the Secataur, La Petite France, and the Hard Rock Cafe.
The dinner show at the Yacht Club is open to the general public. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., followed immediately by the Patsy Cline show. Tickets (dinner and show) are priced at 250 pesos for Yacht Club members and sponsored guests and 330 pesos for non-members. The event at Los Arroyos Verdes begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are 300 pesos and include a wine-and-appetizer reception. Mountain trip
On March 4, travel inland up into the mountains with Philo, Oscar and the Mexican Shuffle Band from La Cruz, to the federally designated Pueblo Magico (Magic Town) of San Sebastian.
This 400-year-old silver mining town of 600 people located in the Sierra Madre mountains is surrounded by pine trees and tequila farms.
It’s an overnight trip with Philo and the band. The excursion price includes a room for one night, a catered dinner, a concert (held in the hotel/old fort located in the center of town) and a next day brunch. After the concert, they will build a campfire and play, sing and drink tequila – or whatever – into the wee hours.

Aerial feats
For something a little different, spend the evening of Saturday, March 3 at the Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC) watching the cruising family “Cirque La Loupiote” perform their incredible aerial feats in the rigging of their sailboat.
The first act, which starts at 5:30 p.m., is titled “The Sailors” and is inspired by Buster Keaton and silent films. It is a parody of navigational maneuvers that pokes fun at the mishaps of hapless navigators. The second show at 7:30 p.m. is a spectacle of aerial choreography and acrobatics that deals with male-female relations.
The shows are suitable for audiences of all ages and last 20 minutes each. They are free of charge but the artists will “pass the hat” for donations to help them and their two kids continue their adventure traveling around the world.
In the break between the acts, the VYC will offer a pasta buffet with three choices of pasta, salads, and desert. The cost for the buffet is 250 pesos for VYC members and sponsored guests and 300 pesos for non-members.
