Mexico faces USA in soccer showdown

The United States hosts Mexico in a crucial World Cup qualifier at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Ohio next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

 

The bitter rivals are competing in a six-team group for three spots at the Brazil 2014 World Cup. The United States currently leads the group, with 13 points from six games, while Mexico has a precarious hold on the third and final qualifying place with just eight points from six games.

Before Tuesday’s showdown, “El Tri” plays Honduras at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Friday at 8:30 p.m., while the United States plays Costa Rica away at 9 p.m.
