Jalisco Charros go marching on

The Sultanes de Monterrey leveled up the Mexican Pacific League (LMP) semi final with the Charros de Jalisco on Wednesday, thanks to a 5-3 win in the second game of the best-of-seven series.

The Charros triumphed 7-4 in the opening game of the semi-final series on Tuesday evening, despite getting off to a rocky start, after the Sultanes raced to a 4-0 lead in the second inning.  The Charros fought back soundly with two runs in the third, three more in the sixth and two in the seventh to wrap up the win.

The Charros earned their place in the semis by defeating the Aguilas de Mexicali in six games in their quarter final match up. In the sixth game of that series, Charros’ Californian pitcher Brennan Bernardino threw seven innings, striking out seven batters, and conceding just two hits and no runs.
