Guadalajara’s standout boxer, the 35-year-old Saul “Canelo” Alvarez who likes to don a crown after his triumphs, has finally been dethroned.

September 13, in one of the most eagerly anticipated fights for years, Canelo had no answers to Terence “Bud” Crawford’s composure, crisp counterpunches and defensive prowess, acknowledging that the U.S. boxer — three years his senior — had fully deserved the judges’ unanimous decision.
