No respite for the Charros: Winter baseball is back

Just over a month after losing in the final of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), the Charros de Jalisco are back in action next week to defend their Mexican Pacific League (LMP) crown.

The LMP regular season runs from October through December, with the playoffs set to begin in early 2026.

The Charros will once again be the clear favorites to reclaim their title, bolstered by several key reinforcements, including Puerto Rican outfielder Johneshwy Fargas, Mexican catcher Carlos Mendivil, and U.S. pitcher Nolan Blackwood.

The Charros begin their season at home against Águilas de Mexicali on Thursday, October 16, at 8 p.m.

The opening game will be followed by five consecutive weekend three-game series:

• vs. Algodoneros de Unión Laguna: Oct. 17-19

• vs. Jaguares de Nayarit: Oct. 24-26

• vs. Naranjeros de Hermosillo: Oct. 31-Nov. 2

• vs. Cañeros de Los Mochis: Nov. 7-9

• vs. Tucson Baseball Team: Nov. 14-16

All home games will be played at the Pan American Stadium in Zapopan. Weekday games start at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sundays at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at boletomovil.com, the team store at La Gran Plaza mall, and the stadium box office. Ample parking is available.

Both the Jaguares de Nayarit and the Tucson Baseball Team will be making their debuts in the 10-team league this season.
