The debut of a team from Tucson, Arizona, in the Mexican Pacific Baseball League (LMP) has been fraught with complications.
Known simply as the “Tucson Baseball Team,” the squad will now play the remainder of its home games in Mexicali after facing multiple U.S. visa processing delays.
The move of the franchise from Navojoa, Sonora, to Tucson marked the first time a U.S.-based team participated in the LMP. However, visa issues with various registered foreign players have prevented the team from playing at its designated home stadium, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson.
