Guadalajara’s FIFA Fan Fest kicks off Thursday. June 11 in the downtown Plaza Liberación and the adjoining Plaza de Armas, and runs daily through July 19.
Admission is free.
The festival opens 90 minutes before each day’s first match (usually 1 p.m.), with giant screens airing all 104 games.
There will be various activities and merch booths.
Food and drink prices are kept reasonable (alcohol is available), organizers say, and free water will be available at peak heat times. Cashless payments only.
Fan Fests are installed at all 16 World Cup venues in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Meanwhile, the Benito Juarez Auditorium in Zapopan is also hosting a fan fest during the tournament, and a giant screen will be installed in the Plaza de las Americas facing the Zapopan Basilica.
