Learning bike safety from an early age

Riding a bicycle on the streets of Guadalajara can be a frightening prospect for many people, even with the ongoing installation of dedicated cycle paths across the metropolitan area.

In an effort to help youngsters obtain cycling proficiency at the earliest age, Zapopan city hall is offering free guidance during Sunday’s Via Recreativa, when major streets are closed to traffic for six hours.  Thousands of cyclists – as well as walkers, joggers and roller skaters – join in the weekly activity.
