A trust fund dedicated to promoting film production in the state – the Comisión de Filmaciones del Estado de Jalisco (Cofiej) – is making 18 million pesos available to locally-based filmmakers with projects either in process or in need of funding.
The projects should be feature length animation, documentary or dramatic films and be produced in Jalisco. Entries should be registered at filmaenjalisco.com before July 24. The results will be announced on September 8. The maximum amount of funding for a single project will be five million pesos.
Cofiej expects to select between ten and 13 projects in this year’s edition of the Convocatoria 2019. In previous years, 23 film projects have received support to the tune of 60 million pesos.
