The drummer of New Orleans sludge-metal band Eyehategod was attacked and suffered a knife wound while walking on a Guadalajara street Sunday.
The band was in town to play a gig at the Foro Independencia in the city center.
The incident occurred a few blocks from the venue and the hotel where the band were staying, according to a statement released by Show No Mercy, the promotors of the concert.
According to the statement, three men and a woman attacked Aaron Hill, 35, at the intersection of Epigmenio González and Comercio. In the altercation they stole his personal belongings and stabbed him on his left side, leaving a two-inch wound. Fortunately, the wound was not serious and only required minor treatment.
Eyehategod did not perform the Guadalajara show later in the day but the band have decided to continue with their tour of Mexico.
