Speed cameras in Jalisco are a cash cow for the state government but authorities are still losing millions of pesos in fines for various reasons.
The cameras snapped drivers exceeding the speed limit on 4.88 million occasions during 2019. However, according to the Jalisco Agencia Metropolitana de Infrastructura para la Movilidad, authorities were only able to issue 1.4 million tickets – around 30 percent of the total.
