Drivers faced long traffic jams this week as work began last weekend at the intersection at the Periferico and the Carretera a Chapala – part of the Mi Macro Periférico megaproject that will eventually see the installation of a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) network along the entire central divider of the Guadalajara metro area ring road.
The work is scheduled to continue around the clock for several more weeks, and involves laying around 500 meters of hydraulic concrete at the Chapala highway intersection, as well as rehabilitating the laterales (lateral lanes) and sidewalks in the zone.
