Film festival rearranged for November

The Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) – postponed from March – will hold its 35th edition from November 20 to 27, based at the University of Guadalajara’s Cineteca theater.

In a press release, the university said “priority will be given to outdoor events and a reduced (number of) functions.”

Organizers of the event promised to abide by all safety protocols established by state authorities regarding containment of the coronavirus.

“The great impact” the pandemic has generated in the film industry is a major reason for rearranging the festival to fall, the university said.

The Guadalajara festival is considered the most prestigious film festival in Latin America and among the most important Spanish language film festivals in the world.
