President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is expected in town Saturday, September 12, to inaugurate the 21.5-kilometer line, which has taken almost six years to build. The line will open to the public as of 4 p.m.
The line runs from the north of the city beltway (Periferico) through the centers of Zapopan, Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque to the central bus station. Thirteen of its stations are elevated and five are underground. The service will have the capacity to transport 233,000 passengers a day, the state government says.
