Talented dancers from the University of Guadalajara (UdG) Ballet Folklorico troupe performing breathtaking routines on the stage of the imperious Teatro Degollado is a clear sign that Guadalajara’s cultural scene is resuming its normal cycle.
The troupe gave their first public presentation in almost two years last Saturday, and have three more coming up on November 20, 27 and December 4, all at 6 p.m.
The dancers continued to rehearse via the internet even through the worst of the pandemic, said Daniela Yoffe, coordinator of Artes Escénicas de Cultura at the UdG. Their reward is performing in front of a live audience again and hearing applause after such a long break, she added.
