Jalisco Administrative Tribunal (TJA) magistrates last week approved the “habitability” of residential apartments being sold in the Villa Panamericana (2011 Pan American Games athletes village), which will allow them to be officially escriturados (titled).
The Green Life Capital consortium is promoting the sale of 650 apartments in the complex, which lies on the western permitter of the metropolitan area, on the fringes of the Primavera Forest, often referred to as “Guadalajara’s lung.”
The athletes’ village was built hurriedly on land adjoining the Primavera Forest, the 30,500-hectare, federally protected nature reserve often referred to as “Guadalajara’s lung.” While athletes during the games said they liked the complex, shoddy construction of the water treatment plant meant that gallons of sewage leaked directly from the development onto nearby land.
