A one-year-old child and a middle-aged man perished in a deadly collision that occurred Sunday, January 16, on the Guadalajara-Morelia highway on the outskirts of the Jocotepec satellite town El Molino.
The head-on crash between a pickup truck and a compact sedan also involved a motorcycle. Aside from the fatalities, six persons were rescued with severe injuries, including the motorcyclist, who suffered the amputation of a leg.
The accident caused a prolonged traffic jam while the injured were being taken by ambulance for emergency attention and the wreckage cleared from the scene.
