Traffic operations ramp up at congested Minerva roundabout

Officers from the state Traffic Department (Policía Vial) have launched a round-the-clock operation at Guadalajara’s Minerva Glorieta to minimize disruptions caused by lane closures related to the fountain’s beautification project.

Initially, authorities anticipated minimal disruptions, but now they are urging drivers to seek alternate routes during peak hours. The project, which aims to improve pedestrian accessibility, is expected to continue until December 2025 or January 2026. The most congested stretch runs from the Centro Magno, beneath the city’s Arches, to the traffic circle.
