A massive 10,750-square-meter mural celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been completed in Guadalajara, making it the largest such artwork in the state of Jalisco.
The mural is located at the intersection of Periférico and Calzada Independencia — one of the city’s busiest traffic corridors. The project was a collaboration between the Guadalajara municipal government and the paint company Comex.
Designed and painted by a local Guadalajara collective, the artwork features both Mexican and international soccer stars. Among the Mexican players depicted are Jalisco natives and players from neighboring states, including Oswaldo Sánchez, Maribel Domínguez, Andrés Guardado and Rafa Márquez.
The mural also pays tribute to international legends such as Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappé, all integrated into the sprawling visual composition.
