Guadalajara will see two separate Pride parades this June, reflecting a split among organizers that has deepened in recent years. The larger, more established march is set for Saturday, June 6, with a rival event scheduled one week later on June 13.
Pride Guadalajara expects more than 100,000 participants. It will set off at 2 p.m. on June 6 from the Glorieta La Minerva and proceed along Avenida Chapultepec, Avenida Hidalgo and Avenida López Mateos, ending at the Glorieta de las y los Desaparecidos (also known as Glorieta Niños Héroes).
At the endpoint, a festival will feature live performances on a large stage, with more than 30 local and national acts scheduled. Organizers say the march aims to highlight multiple issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community in Jalisco. According to a press release from organizers, these include:
